Success Stories:

" I would love to share a few words about how In the Weeds has drastically benefitted my life through TSB. I have been going to the Sweaty Buddha nearly every Monday at 6am since February. This class maintained my sanity while living out of my semi-insulated schoolie. This class would be unaffordable without In the Weeds and I am deeply grateful. The weekly sense of community, safe space, and physical effort drastically improves my mental and physical health. Thank you for reaching out, I hope you have a wonderful summer!"

-Ryan B.

" I have always struggled being consistent with stretching or having any down time to just breath and listen to my body. Having this opportunity to go to yoga once a week has been a game changer for me mentally and physically. I feel so much better after every class I take and the instructors are all incredible!!"

-Brittany C.

" Learning about the free yoga classes through In the Weeds changed my life! As a small business owner in the food industry, an annual pass to any yoga studio has thus far been very out of reach. I am a pastry chef which means crazy hours, long days on my feet in a hot kitchen, and lots of heavy lifting. Yoga has helped relieve chronic back and hip pain, sore overworked wrists and arms, and given me more flexibility and mobility. Not to mention the mental health benefits I experience from yoga - entrepreneurship, wedding cake making and delivering, fulfilling wholesale orders, etc. all add up to a heavy stress load. Summer is the busiest season for my business with wedding cakes, farmers market, etc. and I haven't been able to attend yoga for weeks now and have absolutely noticed a difference in my body and mind. I have been so, so grateful for the generous, amazing gift of yoga and I feel strongly that anyone in the service industry could benefit hugely from it."

-Rachel C.

" My yoga practice has shown me that there are many hidden wells within me I didn't know existed. In my day to day life yoga has taught me to trust the process more. I have noticed I am gaining more patience at my job and with my customers. I am able to calm myself down more easily after a stressful moment. The ripple effects of this practice are to many to mention here, but i am excited to see how my yoga practice blossoms over the years to come!"

-Shannon

" I have worked in the high pace environment of restaurants since I was 16 years old. I have gained lifelong friends and learned skills that have helped me better my life. I have also been exposed to a high stress World where substance abuse is ignored and even encouraged. Where productivity was valued above the individual's well being. My mind runs a million miles a minute and I'm always trying to be fast better stronger. Yoga has given me a space where I can step onto my mat and for 60 mins I am accepted exactly where I am at. My practice has taught me that sometimes it not about how good you do something but the intention behind it. That no matter the situation you can take the time to breath and love yourself for what you are in that moment, not for the accomplishments you have made or the things you WANT to become. Yoga to me eventually became something I would do to have a quiet mind. Even for 60 mins a day if I had that release I could go forth feeling grounded in my day. In the weeds has created a safe place for restaurant workers to tend to their mental health, and know that they as a person matter not just as a worker. Making yoga accessible to all people despite their financial situation is so important. Everyone has a right to feel calm and peace. In The Weeds removed the anxiety of "well I don't have the extra money for class right now so i just won't go. I'm fine on my own" with the yoga program through in the weeds everyone is getting an opportunity to walk through those studio doors and take the time for themselves. I think in our fast pace world we could all use a little yoga. Thanks to In The Weeds so many people with be able to access these classes that perhaps would never would of had the opportunity to do so before. I am so grateful to sweaty Buddha and in the weeds for starting this accessibility program and bringing yoga back into my life! "

" I love that there is a group that encourages folks in the hospitality industry to make healthy decisions around their physical and mental well-being. This industry can be tough, and the cost of living makes living in Durango difficult. I love ITW because it provides access to activities and learning opportunities, and even incentivizes healthy habits and activities. The folks that work with the program are all phenomenal, and I love that ITW partners with other great non profit organizations that help support our community members."
