Although mental health is our primary focus, we believe there are multiple solutions to stress. That is why throughout the year we will will offer physical activities (like rafting, yoga, and other outdoor activities), financial workshops (home buying, budgeting, etc), and social activities. 

VINYASA YOGA

FIRST and THIRD Monday's 9:30 am at Buckley Park

Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath.  Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga. The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the SAME thing every day. Meet Grace, a local industry member who will be instructing the classes! Her yoga journey began approximately 7 years ago to help her body recover from intense workouts while playing division 2 college field hockey. During her last semester of college while earning a bachelors degree is health science, she also completed 200 hours of YTT in June 2020. Through her  years of working in the service industry in between college and through it, yoga has helped her recover physically and mentally. She is excited to be able to share her love of the practice to others through teaching. Hope to see you on the mat!

Working on building strength in your core is paramount to longevity in this field. We are sure we all know many co-workers who have had to have back/ankle/knee/shoulder surgeries from injuries sustained at work. Even though this may not prevent any injuries, we can say first hand that it helps us through our own personal injuries so that we can work long hours.
